I hoped everyone had a wonderful Christmas last week. It is officially over the countdown to my New Year's Resolution. So let us begin this new journey together and go in depth into God's word.

In Genesis 9 it talks about God's covenant with Noah and Noah's three sons: Japheth, Shem, and Ham. If anyone who doesn't know what covenant means is it is a promise between God and Noah. First Post/What I Plan on Doing

This is my first post and I want to say: How cool this is to jot down my thoughts and ideas on a webpage. I want everyone to know what I plan on doing with my new blog site. What I am going to do is my New Year Resolution. My New Year Resolution is to read the whole Holy Bible from Genesis to Revelation in one year. Here's the catch, I'm going to summarize each book on what I read. I'll do the best that I can to explain it simply as possible. I'm no Theologian or Scholar. I'm just a simple 22 year old young man who loves his Lord and Savior. There are 66 books in the Holy Bible. 365 days a year in a 12 month period. This is going to be a challenge, but I'm willing to keep myself motivated and focused. Let the countdown begin. I will start this challenge on New Year's Day.

James 1:19-21

We all know what it feels like when anger starts rising within us—we want to be right, have the last word, or prove our point. In the heat of the moment, it’s easy to become quick to speak and slow to listen. Stephen Covey says, “Most people do not listen with the intent to understand; they listen with the intent to reply.” It’s no wonder we live in a culture with so much division. If believers aim to live counter-culture like Jesus, we must lead the way in listening, understanding, and showing empathy despite our differences. The Chinese character “Ting” is translated as “to listen,” but it’s an overly simplified definition. Each part of the symbol represents a different facet of listening—the ears, eyes, heart, mind, and undivided attention. It’s a picture of active listening, attuned to the other person with the intent to understand.
