Honoring Your Pastors'

My parents, as you know, have been pastors of Jackson Vineyard the last 5 years. What you don’t know is they have been my pastors’ the last 25 years. I’m bias when it comes to my parents, being who they are, and what they have accomplished as husband and wife of 34 years. Three men growing in their spiritual walk with Jesus, and only Him. I am honored to be called their son. I get both worlds. Both pastors and parents. Outside the church, they are Mom and Dad. Inside the church, they are my pastors.

Dad and Mom, thank you for all the lessons and teachings of who Jesus is to me, being my example of what Christ looks like through your unconditional love towards me, and thank you for allowing me to be your “Sunshine”.

Okay, now to the important stuff!

You see what I did there. I appreciated and thank them for what they did for me. Not only as their son, but as a church member.

Growing up, did you ever thanked your Pastors and/or Leaders?

There are 3 things I want you to do as a body of believers.

1.       Pray daily, weekly, monthly for your leaders.
2.       Encourage them
3.       Thank them

What does God say about Pastors and Leaders?

Jeremiah 3:15 ESV
“And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.”

So why do we need Pastors?

-          To guide us
-          To know who Jesus is

Hebrews 13:17 ESV
“Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.”

You know why we need to encourage our pastors?

In a survey, I read recently. On average, 1,500 pastors are leaving the ministry every month. Every MONTH!!!!!

Pastors and Leaders need us church.

I encourage you to pray, encourage, and thank them.

My final question to you,

What would it be like if we encouraged, prayed, appreciated our pastors?

We would live in a different world.


We can stop pastors from leaving the ministry for good.

First Post/What I Plan on Doing

This is my first post and I want to say: How cool this is to jot down my thoughts and ideas on a webpage. I want everyone to know what I plan on doing with my new blog site. What I am going to do is my New Year Resolution. My New Year Resolution is to read the whole Holy Bible from Genesis to Revelation in one year. Here's the catch, I'm going to summarize each book on what I read. I'll do the best that I can to explain it simply as possible. I'm no Theologian or Scholar. I'm just a simple 22 year old young man who loves his Lord and Savior. There are 66 books in the Holy Bible. 365 days a year in a 12 month period. This is going to be a challenge, but I'm willing to keep myself motivated and focused. Let the countdown begin. I will start this challenge on New Year's Day.

Genesis 11:1-9 The Tower of Babel

The first half of chapter 11 talks about the tower of Babel. At one time the whole world spoke a single language and used the same words. As the people migrated eastward, they found a plain in the land of Babylonia and settled there. They began to talk about the construction projects. They built a great city with this tower that reached the skies with great piles of burnt bricks and collected natural asphalt to use as mortar. It was a monument to their greatness. The tower would bring them together and keep them from scattering all over the world. The brick used to build this tower was man made and not as hard as stone.
